Wilbur Cross had lost 19 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-21 to make it 20. They came up short against the Northwest Catholic Lions, falling 14-4. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Governors' highest-scoring contest to date.

For Northwest Catholic's part, Thomas Cerreta made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Cerreta a new career-high. Mikan continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played.
