The R.J. Reynolds Demons were the 59-54 winner over the Parkland Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. R.J. Reynolds fell 68-61 to the Mustangs on Tuesday. R.J. Reynolds' loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antoine Jones Jr., who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Kingston Carmichael was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Riley Horton had an outrageously good game for Parkland as he scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Horton scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brock Jackson, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
R.J. Reynolds dropped their record down to 9-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Parkland, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
R.J. Reynolds will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenn has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Parkland, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Forsyth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Mustangs likes a good challenge.
