It was a good run, but the West Limestone Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 41-33 to Lawrence County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Limestone has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Smith, who scored nine points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Newton, who scored 11 points.
West Limestone's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Lawrence County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
West Limestone will finish 2023 at home by hosting Ardmore at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lawrence County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Covenant Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th.
