Oakwood Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Old Suwanee Christian by a score of 69-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (58), Oakwood Christian still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Old Suwanee Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Chatman, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Jon Rojas was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Oakwood Christian dropped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Old Suwanee Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakwood Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Bob Jones Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully the like a good challenge. As for Old Suwanee Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
