The Jesuit Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the North Medford Black Tornado at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jesuit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Jesuit gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They strolled past Oregon City with points to spare, taking the game 55-36.
Among those leading the charge was Kendra Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 26 rebounds. Reese Filkins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Medford came up short against Newberg on Saturday and fell 51-38. North Medford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for North Medford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Jesuit against North Medford in their previous meeting back in December of 2019 as the squad secured a 62-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jesuit since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
