Williamson has gone 9-1 against Clyde-Savannah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Marauders will welcome the Golden Eagles at 4:45 p.m.
Williamson managed to slip by Gananda Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Marauders lost 16-6 to the Blue Panthers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Marauders have suffered since May 7, 2024.
Caiden Watson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Blauvelt, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Clyde-Savannah came out on top against Marion on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Black Knights with a sharp 18-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Clyde-Savannah got a massive performance out of Max Waldron, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Waldron is becoming a predictor of the Golden Eagles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Derek Cole, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Clyde-Savannah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Williamson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Clyde-Savannah, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Williamson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clyde-Savannah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Williamson was able to grind out a solid victory over Clyde-Savannah when the teams last played back in April, winning 9-4. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
