Last Tuesday, Sharyland slipped by Valley View 41-40. The win was just what Sharyland needed coming off of a 77-36 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-43, which was the final score in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's tilt against Vela on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-21.
Sharyland's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Sharyland beat Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North 62-54 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's Gianni Beltran, who scored 23 points.
