Sickles is 9-1 against Gaither since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Gryphons will be playing at home against the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Sickles' victory against Dunedin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gryphons skirted past the Falcons 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Gryphons in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.
Braden Ross was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Martz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, Gaither came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cowboys have posted since February 27th.
Crafton Gaczewski looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on David Pina, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base. Ryan Deak was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Gaither's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Sickles, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sickles has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Gaither struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sickles couldn't quite get it done against Gaither in their previous meeting on Thursday as they fell 6-3. Will the Gryphons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
