Smackover had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Nashville Scrappers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 last Saturday.

Smackover's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Marley Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Smith has hit this season. Another was Nataleh Goodwin, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Smackover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Smackover's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Nashville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Smackover has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 loss against Bismarck on the 31st. As for Nashville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Magnolia on the 31st.
