After flying high against North Monterey County last Friday, Monterey came back down to earth. The Monterey Dores wound up on the wrong side of a rough 13-3 walloping at the hands of the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs on Monday.

On Archbishop Mitty's side, they got a great performance from Kyleigh Mace as she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Mace has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Corri Hicks, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Archbishop Mitty, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

As for Archbishop Mitty, they will head out on the road to challenge Carlmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
