Basketball Recap: Aurora Christian Academy Beats Mountain Grove Christian Academy for Their Second Straight Victory

Aurora Christian Academy won the last time they faced Mountain Grove Christian Academy, and Sawyer Jones did his part to make sure it happened again. The Aurora Christian Academy Arrows came out on top against the Mountain Grove Christian Academy EAGLES by a score of 69-58 on Tuesday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a triple-double on 29 points, 11 boards, and 14 steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Rowen Haynes, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

The victory made it two in a row for Aurora Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-5. As for Mountain Grove Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Aurora Christian Academy and Polk County Christian will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
