Adams City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fernanda Hernandez out in front who scored eight points along with 13 steals and seven rebounds. Hernandez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Arianna Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Gateway was beaten by Skyview 59-13 on Tuesday. Gateway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-6.
Adams City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Gateway, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
Everything came up roses for Adams City against Gateway in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 52-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adams City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
