For the first time this season, Wade Hampton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Spartanburg Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Wade Hampton took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over High Point Academy. With that victory, the Generals brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.
Kellyn Kingston made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kingston was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Wade Hampton let Sydney Placko and Sanaii Rivers run wild. Placko went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs, while Rivers went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Rivers a new career-high. Breleigh Betsill was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
Wade Hampton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Spartanburg got the win against Mauldin on Thursday by a conclusive 18-4.
Sydney Anderson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Anderson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Spartanburg got a massive performance out of Carlee Richards, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kissni Irby, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
The win got Wade Hampton back to even at 2-2. As for Spartanburg, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Wade Hampton came up short against Spartanburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 13-8. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
