The South Fremont Cougars will take on the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Fremont has given up an average of 10.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Diggers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sugar-Salem let Kambry Bartholick and Allie Christensen run wild. Bartholick went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Christensen got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Christensen has posted since back in April of 2024. Taylee Robertson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Sugar-Salem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
South Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Sugar-Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Fremont hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Sugar-Salem struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
