The DSST: Montview Knights will take on the Kennedy Commanders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. DSST: Montview knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Kennedy likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, DSST: Montview didn't have quite enough to beat Denver West and fell 14-13.

Boon Vuth and Paul Ventura stepped up to the plate in a big way. Vuth went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Ventura went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Vuth is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Izzy (Isaiah) Esserman was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Kennedy posted their closest win since April 15, 2025 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over Manual. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commanders.
Xavier Benavidez and Kalani Market did most of the damage at the plate: Benavidez went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Market went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Market a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ki'Marri Dotson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive contests.
DSST: Montview's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. DSST: Montview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
DSST: Montview came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy in their previous meeting last Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Commanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
