West Rowan had a rough outing against South Iredell last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. West Rowan took the game and then some with a 49-7 victory over North Iredell on Friday. That looming 42-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Rowan yet.
West Rowan got off to a slow start in their matchup last week, but they had no such trouble against North Iredell as they cruised to a 42-point first half. North Iredell countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 42-7 going into the half. The West Rowan defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest.
The win bumped West Rowan's record up to 5-4. North Iredell are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. West Rowan will stay at home next week against Jesse Carson. West Rowan will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. North Iredell will be staying on the road, facing off against South Iredell. South Iredell also experienced difficulties finding the end zone in their match this week, so look for the defenses to decide this one.
