Jackson Day and Lee Park Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Jackson Day Mariners will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Lee Park Prep Knights at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jackson Day posted their biggest victory since November 27, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Valor Preparatory Academy 46-6 on the road.
Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep entered their tilt with Fletcher with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lee Park Prep was the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over Fletcher. Given Lee Park Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Fletcher is ranked 555th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson Day has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Lee Park Prep, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Jackson Day couldn't quite finish off Lee Park Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 49-46. Can Jackson Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
