The St. Joseph Cadets waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Amistad 74-39 at home. That 35 points margin sets a new team best for St. Joseph this season.
St. Joseph was led to victory by Jayden Febus and Tj Wright. Febus scored 16 points, while Wright scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Wright hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Chase Bryant, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
St. Joseph's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Amistad, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bridgeport Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Amistad, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitney RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Whitney RVT is ranked 128th, while Amistad is ranked 105th).
