King's Fork scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Grassfield, 25-21. At the time, the Grizzlies were ranked fourth in the state, while the Bulldogs were 75th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to King's Fork, who took down fourth ranked Grassfield, 25-21.
Western Branch's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. C.J. Thomas threw for five yards and Chris Hancock had five yards receiving. On the ground Josh Marriner chipped in 152 yards.
Marty Asprey's team's Blake LaRussa and Paris Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading AAA Southeastern in both passing and receiving yards. LaRussa has thrown for 897 yards this season, while Smith, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 17 catches for 446 yards. Marriner from the Bruins leads the league in rushing with 1265 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Oscar Smith and the Grizzlies. The Tigers comes into the matchup ranked fifth in the state, while Grassfield ranks 10th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Oscar Smith takes on the Grizzlies. Richard Morgan's team has allowed 80 points this season, while Grassfield has given up 123. The Tigers allowed 0 points last week as they beat Deep Creek.
Oscar Smith extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Hornets, 58-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Tigers.
