Boswell is 9-0 against Chisholm Trail since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Boswell Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chisholm Trail Rangers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Boswell is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chisholm Trail in Texas (Boswell is ranked 152nd, while Chisholm Trail is ranked 772nd).
Boswell fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over Crowley on Friday.
Boswell can attribute much of their success to Kairel Robertson, who picked up 146 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Tye Renfro, who threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Renfro was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Jack Garcia did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and three extra points.
Meanwhile, Chisholm Trail's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by North Crowley 77-0. Chisholm Trail was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Boswell's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Chisholm Trail, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Boswell has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 377 total yards per game. It's a different story for Chisholm Trail, though, as they've been averaging only 212.4 per game. Will Boswell be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Chisholm Trail flip the ?
