After a string of three wins, the Kearns Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Taylorsville 42-38. Kearns has struggled against Taylorsville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylee Glade, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Adhau Chol, who scored eight points along with five blocks.
Aysha Salami was the offensive standout of the matchup as she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Felika Tauvao, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Kearns' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Taylorsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearns will take on Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cyprus is coming into the match with four straight wins on the road, meaning Kearns will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Taylorsville, they will be playing at home against Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Taylorsville is facing Granger at the right time seeing as Granger is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
