After a string of 11 wins, Macomb's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Rockridge Rockets by a score of 6-5. The Bombers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.
Drew Watson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Watson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Langdon Lambert, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Macomb's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Rockridge, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-12.
