Volleyball Recap: Maple Grove Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Maple Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on April 5th.

Maple Grove had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 27-25.

Zachary Garbow paced Maple Grove's offense, picking up 20 kills. Garbow got some help from Ryan Patten and his 40 assists. Grady Reitmeier controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Maple Grove's record now sits at 11-9. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maple Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe Wayzata at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Robbinsdale Armstrong will face off against rival Coon Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
