Bingham has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The American Fork Cavemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bingham faced Syracuse in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bingham walked away with a 29-21 win over Syracuse.
Among those leading the charge was Triston Brimhall, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Brimhall was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Chase Swensen was another key contributor, rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Bingham's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Mahonilai Havili and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, American Fork entered their tilt with Westlake with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. American Fork simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Westlake 42-13 at home. Considering American Fork has won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
American Fork's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Eardley led the charge by rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Davis Andrews also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Bingham now has a winning record of 6-5. As for American Fork, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1.
Bingham took a serious blow against American Fork when the teams last played back in September, falling 28-0. Can Bingham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
