Escondido Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Pincock, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Pincock scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Oceanside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road last Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-38 victory over Escondido.
Escondido Charter's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Oceanside, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Escondido Charter beat Oceanside 50-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Escondido Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
