Ethan Fink continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points in addition to six assists and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024. Uzo Nwapa was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sports Leadership & Management was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 53-49 to Pahrump Valley.
Despite the loss, Sports Leadership & Management saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jael Cousett went 8 for 10 en route to 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Cousett. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo-Ernestro Cruz-Lara, who posted seven points along with six blocks and five boards.
The Meadows School is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as The Meadows School and Sports Leadership & Management are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. The Meadows School hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.3 points per game. However, it's not like Sports Leadership & Management struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for The Meadows School against Sports Leadership & Management when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-53 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sports Leadership & Management's Alaijah Young, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 24 points and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will The Meadows School still be able to contain Young? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
