In a tight match that could have gone either way, Santa Fe made off with a 32-31 win over Wellington-Napoleon. The win made it back-to-back wins for Santa Fe.
Defeat or not, Wellington-Napoleon got some senior leadership from Trotter Hughes who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and Jack Wiggins who scored 4 points. Hughes scored a full 41.9% of Wellington-Napoleon's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Santa Fe will head out on the road to face off against Orrick at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Orrick is ranked 453rd, while Santa Fe is ranked 439th). As for Wellington-Napoleon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Penney at 7:30 p.m.
