Franklin Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Briarfield Academy Rebels on Friday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on River Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on March 4th. As for Briarfield Academy, they will head out to square off against Riverfield Academy at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Briarfield Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games dating back to last season.
