The Platteview Trojans won the last time they faced the Gross Catholic Cougars, and things went their way on Friday too. Platteview had just enough and edged Gross Catholic out 50-48. That's two games straight that Platteview has won by exactly two points.
Platteview was led to victory by Reiman Zebert and Jaxon Adams. Zebert dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Adams dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Speth, who scored five points.
Platteview's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Gross Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Platteview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Blair at 7:45 p.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Blair is ranked 88th, while Platteview is ranked 66th). Gross Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boys Town at 7:44 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Boys Town focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
