Southeast is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Heights is on a 14-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Even though Southeast has not done well against Northwest recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Southeast snuck past Northwest with a 76-72 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Southeast's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Northwest is ranked 24th).
Meanwhile, Heights can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past South 74-43 at home.
Heights' success was spearheaded by the efforts of T.J. Williams, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, and Chase Robinson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aven Mboule, who scored 14 points.
Southeast now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Heights, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.
