Even though the East Wake Warriors have not done well against the Rolesville Rams recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. East Wake took down Rolesville 68-51. Winning may never get old, but East Wake sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
East Wake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Harris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Harris' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corban Woodard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Rolesville saw an underclassman step up: Anthony Roberts scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Griffin-Haynes, who scored 5 points.
East Wake's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Rolesville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
East Wake will be playing in front of their home fans against Cary at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rolesville, they will face off against Broughton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Broughton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
