The Dell City Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Van Horn Eagles at 1:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Dell City has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Van Horn will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Dell City had to suffer through a rough 74-16 loss at the hands of Balmorhea.
Meanwhile, Van Horn beat Sierra Blanca 35-25 on Tuesday.
Van Horn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malia Bermudez led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bermudez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgi Sparks, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Dell City's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Van Horn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Dell City suffered a grim 38-14 defeat to Van Horn in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Can Dell City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
