Monocacy Valley - Chesapeake recap November 13, 2013
Westminster added to the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Chesapeake this week by beating South Carroll, 43-40. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Owls.
Westminster led the league in scoring this week by notching 43 points on the Cavaliers. Brian Kohr ran for 152 yards and caught 4 passes for 38 yards in the win.
Brad Wilson's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Duke Etchinson threw for 171 yards and Jesse Uhlman had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Kohr chipped in 152 yards. Ryan Hursey helped Westminster's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 48 yards.
Etchinson put up the best numbers in passing as the Owls beat South Carroll. Etchinson's favorite target this week was Uhlman, who caught 3 passes for 59 yards.
Westminster's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Owls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Etchinson has thrown for 2,733 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, while Hursey has 73 catches for 973 yards.
Westminster's Hursey needs only 27 receiving yards against Franklin to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has acheived 73 catches for 973 yards.
Manchester Valley made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,814 from 7,618. The advance stemmed from a 27-8 victory over North Carroll last week.
