The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yazoo County, who took down 71st ranked Cleveland, 28-21. Michael Collum threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 72 yards in the win.
The Panthers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,055 from 3,746. The improvement came about via a 28-21 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Devontea White was the best wideout in 4A Region 3 this week as Yazoo County defeated Cleveland. White racked up four receptions for 59 yards. Justin Henderson helped Yazoo County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
Levell Green provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gentry topped Humphreys County. He completed five passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 105 yards. Green's favorite target this week was Shaquarick Willis, who caught two passes for 31 yards.
Ladarius Brown was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 132 yards on 13 carries as the Rams defeated Kelly Causey's team.
6-foot-2 quarterback Kwadra Griggs of Greenwood is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2169. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. On the ground, Gentry's Brown has rushed for 903 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is White. The Yazoo County star has 32 catches for 747 yards.
Brown of the Melvin Pete's team is only 97 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in 4A Region 3 this week will be when Yazoo County takes on the Rams. The Panthers are in first place, while Gentry is in third place.
