The Community School of Davidson Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Liberty Preparatory Christian with a sharp 67-44 victory on Monday. Given Community School of Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Liberty Preparatory Christian is ranked 487th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Community School of Davidson was led to victory by Austin Moran and Dermot Lowry. Moran scored 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Lowry scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Moran has scored at least 25% of Community School of Davidson's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Tomko, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Community School of Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Community School of Davidson and West Iredell will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th at. Liberty Preparatory Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fletcher at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
