The Brick Township Green Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Clearview Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brick Township's five-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Steinert 31-7.
Brick Township's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jayden Johnson, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown, and Travis Trempy, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Another reason for the win was Brick Township's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Steinert's QB won't forget Trempy anytime soon given Trempy sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, Clearview owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They breezed by Hightstown at home to the tune of 28-0. Clearview pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Hightstown had little chance of recovering from.
Obrian Brown was on fire: he rushed for 260 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Brown hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Brick Township's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Clearview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
