Everything came up roses for St. James against Haynes Academy on Thursday as the squad secured a 43-7 victory. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for St. James, who can brag about three blowout wins.
The game started off well for St. James, whose offense put up 36 first-half points. Meanwhile, Haynes Academy couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 36-0 heading into the break. The St. James defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win bumped St. James' record up to 5-2. Haynes Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 1-6.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week St. James take on De La Salle at 7:00 PM. As for Haynes Academy, they will face off against St. Charles Catholic.
