Prairie Farm is 4-0 against the Warriors since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Prairie Farm Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Winter Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Prairie Farm has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while the Warriors will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Friday, Prairie Farm was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to the Chiefs.
Even though Winter has not done well against the Trojans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Winter had just enough and edged the Trojans out 85-82. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Winter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gunnar Greuel out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. Greuel is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Curtis Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Prairie Farm dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Winter, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Prairie Farm against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 95-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prairie Farm since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
