On Friday, the Barrington Eagles faced the Bishop Hendricken Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Barrington came out on top against Bishop Hendricken by a score of 53-41. The win was familiar territory for Barrington who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Barrington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Scandura, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Matt Raffa, who scored 16 points.
Barrington's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Bishop Hendricken, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will stay at home for another game and welcome Cranston East at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Cranston East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Rhode Island Rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Barrington is ranked third). As for Bishop Hendricken, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Smithfield at 6:30 p.m.
