Two dominant guards in Phoenix Romeo and Isaiah Gonzalez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hardee Wildcats and the Lake Placid Dragons will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hardee is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Hardee came up short against Fort Meade and fell 57-44. Hardee has struggled against Fort Meade recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Lake Placid was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 44-38 to Avon Park.
Hardee's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Lake Placid, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Hardee ended up a good deal behind Lake Placid in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 65-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gonzalez, who scored 24 points along with three steals.
