R.A. Long had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 6-10 to make it four. They lost 8-0 to the Columbia River Rapids. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rapids this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 two weeks ago.

Stevie Jones (2027) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, R.A. Long saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrina Solano (2026), who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Solano (2026) has hit this season.
As for Columbia River, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games.
On Columbia River's side, the result came thanks to Cassity Houk's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ruby Lew, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Pratoussy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Coincidentally, R.A. Long and Columbia River will both be playing Hudson's Bay the next time they take the field. The Lumberjacks will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rapids will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
