In what's become a running theme this season, the Canton Little Giants gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Limestone as Canton made off with a 58-36 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Canton has posted since December 16, 2023.
Canton was led to victory by Allison Wheeler and Ella Demler. Wheeler scored 15 points along with three steals, while Demler scored 14 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Demler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Brooklyn Dennis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Canton has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Limestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will take on East Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Peoria is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Limestone, they will be playing at home against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Limestone in Illinois (Washington is ranked 31st, while Limestone is ranked 153rd).
