Rosemont is 2-8 against the Hawks since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rosemont Wolverine will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Liberty Ranch took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rosemont, who comes in off a win.
Rosemont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 84-30 victory over Galt. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for Rosemont this season.
Rosemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Wafula led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Wafula has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Amahd Ellis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch came up short against the Cougars on Friday and fell 61-51.
Despite their loss, Liberty Ranch saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Yousef Diab, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Diab is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elliott Hawker, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Rosemont's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Galt, El Dorado, and Liberty Ranch. As for Liberty Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
Rosemont didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Hawks in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rosemont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
