The Brunswick Bulldogs came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over Franklin. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jabarri Pamplin was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored five points.
Brunswick's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Brunswick will be playing in front of their home fans against Sussex Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sussex Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Brunswick is ranked 113th). As for Franklin, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southampton at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Southampton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
