The Chesterfield Golden Rams lost against the Cheraw Braves back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Chesterfield was beaten by Cheraw 70-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chesterfield in their matchups with Cheraw: they've now lost six in a row.
Aiden Short threw for 127 yards and a touchdown. Jaquavis Clark was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Aiden Nolan looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 199 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Cam Mcclendon and his 90 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Cheraw's win.
Chesterfield's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Cheraw, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Chesterfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheraw will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
