The Branchville Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 80-46 loss at the hands of Whale Branch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Branchville in their matchups with Whale Branch: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Felder, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyran Glover, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Whale Branch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bradford Thompson led the charge by scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Thompson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tony Broxton jr, who scored 13 points.
Branchville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Whale Branch, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bamberg-Ehrhardt the next time they take the court. Whale Branch will head out to face Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Branchville will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
