Football Recap: Elbert Skates Past South Park with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elbert). They breezed past the South Park Burros to the tune of 74-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Burros recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Elbert didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Eli Cornell, Hunter Neville, and Cole Nay picked up one apiece. Neville got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Elbert, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jeremiah LaChausse, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Elbert's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Elbert has already played their next contest, a 36-24 loss against Byers on the 17th. As for South Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 72-0 defeat against Calhan on the 18th.
