Meadowbrook has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Philo Electrics at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meadowbrook has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Meadowbrook struggled with assists on Tuesday (River View had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Meadowbrook took a 71-54 bruising from River View.
Despite their loss, Meadowbrook saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Michael Ray, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Masyn Campbell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Philo pushed their score all the way to 76 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 91-76 fall against Morgan.
Drew Wright put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Talon Preston, who scored 14 points.
Meadowbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Philo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Friday's match will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Colton Delancey and Wright. Delancey has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 11.3 points and 1.3 steals. For his part, Wright has averaged 12.2 points and 1.6 steals.
Meadowbrook ended up a good deal behind Philo in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, losing 63-45. Can Meadowbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
