The Oxford Prep Griffins won the last time they faced the Eno River Bobcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Oxford Prep walked away with a 57-50 win over Eno River.
Leading Oxford Prep to victory were Justin Thomas and AleYaun Heggie. Thomas scored 20 points along with six rebounds, while Heggie dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. Heggie is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 19 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Juntunen, who scored four points.
Eno River lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Corey Amyot, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Cole Creedle was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Oxford Prep's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Eno River, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford Prep will take on Henderson Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eno River, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vance Charter at 7:30 p.m. Vance Charter will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Eno River surely won't give up without a fight.
