Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Terra Linda Trojans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by St. Bernard's 45-7 on Saturday. Terra Linda was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Wyatt Simoni was a one-man wrecking crew for St. Bernard's as he rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Simoni was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Luke Brunton, who rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Terra Linda has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for St. Bernard's, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Terra Linda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Bernard's will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Analy at 1:00 p.m. Analy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
